Australia Vs South Africa - The Match

This would be the most blogged topic now, and I have nothing more to add, for I didn't follow the match, except the Austrialian scores. I later knew that SA won the match. It was impossible to imagine then, but later I dwelled into the validity of the word "Impossible" itself.

Impossible is based on others' experience. Its simple. If others can't do it, we are not expected to do it. Worst still we are sometimes discounted from even trying. We have heard many such stories of a deaf donkey trying to come out of the well it fell into, while its master kept on shouting it cannot. Also another story wherein a student slept in class, woke up, noted the problem on the board and solved the impossible in 2 days.

These may be stories, just fables built out of thin air to build our confidence. But this cricket match yesterday, is the perfect testimony of what attitude and inspiration can do; no matter how big the task is.

Afterall the Aussies are also humans, and they achieved something. So how different will it be for SA to achieve it. Sadly the world doesnt look it that way. At half way through many would have thought the match was over. If SA had thought the same, it would have been indeed over. This is what happens in this competitive world today. Others speak for us, they decide what we can and what we cannot do. But who else knows better about us, than ourselves. Don't we have the right to decide, and also the qualities to achieve something?

I savour the match for the inspiration it gave, to the points it proved wrong and for the stories it will tell forever. I thank the Aussies for being the greatest team ever. Any other team would not have set the stage in the first place. I profoundly thank the SAfricans, for living the fables, that anything is possible, if we only set the mind to it.

I wish to recall a famous quote:
"One who does not hope to win, has already lost."

So the next time you hear someone tell you, "You, cannot. Dont try, etc..."; be happy. It is your greatest inspiration to go after the impossible.

the end.

This is the bestest post I have come across on this topic. I don't think many others could have put it better.

Anyone who's reading this, now beat that!

very inspiring...(like the Gibbs innings). If u had seen the match u would have noted that its just self belief which gave victory to SA. Though chasing 434, the south africans seemed to Enjoy the Contest more than the Aussies.
