Sandai - The Movie

This movie is 100% commercial aimed at only entertaining and making a handsome profit.

Sundar C: Good acting, suits the role. Though tries to immitate Rajni and Vijayakanth style together - doesn't look bad. Atleast there is not much of punch dialogues to hurt our ears.

Nadiya: The actual star of the movie. Nice to watch. Looks like a young actress herself.

Heroine: No role.

Namitha: The glam queen of Tamil cinema did justice to her role.

Vivek: Same old double meaning jokes, and Naatamai role. Not as good as Thoondil but helped in increasing the length of the movie.

Villans: 3 of them, but no role.

Dhina (Music): Effort spent in identifying old tamil devotional songs and changing the lyrics. Now if some one wrote the lyrics then effort spent only in identifying old dev songs. Thats fine considering the budget of the movie.

Storyline: Nadiya, who made 5000 crores (do they believe in what they say?) in Bangkok wants to get her daughter married in a village in Tamil Nadu. The reason behind it is she wants to take revenge on her brother, and entire family who supposedly killed her husband. What happens in the village is the story.

The movie is a good entertainer and can easily kill a couple of hours, just like Satyaraj movie.

Mokkai No 1.

While listening to a popular song in youtube one of the comments read as quoted:
"This is one of my husbands favorite song."

The baddy in me was so much inclined to ask - "Which one?"

Did you know? - Sudden Motion Sensors

"In January 2005, Apple introduced the Sudden Motion Sensor™ (SMS) in its high-end laptops. The SMS is a three-axis accelerometer linked with the hard disk, so that if the laptop suddenly finds itself in free fall it can anticipate an impact and park the hard disk heads in a safe area, thus reducing the effect of the impact. Apple included the SMS in all its laptops starting in July 2005. IBM had begun including a similar feature, the Active Protection System™, in its ThinkPad laptops two years earlier; Acer Inc. is just now releasing its GraviSense™ utility."

Cool isn't it. Whats better is the fact is that the accelerometer reading, usually of (x,y,z) axes can be read and used by programmers, though Apple didn't intend it to happen!

One such application is Seismograph reading (the above link.)

With such an interesting tool, the possibilities are just infinite.
A brief description on how it works can be found here.

Ode to my Advisor

The word brilliance is an subjective term, one should agree. Its like the "two-lines" theory, one line looks small in the presence of a bigger line... which in itself is an infinite process.
I am easily overwhelmed at the sheer breadth of diverse topics in a library, or the infinite depth a narrow-topic traverses.
Clearly Evolution through its 4 Billion-year growth has so much to offer.

There are very few people who can talk about many things, it feels like they know everything under the sun. One such soul is My Advisor.

The sheer diverse things he can handle and talk about reminds me of "The Village School Master" by Oliver Goldsmith.

"Yet he was kind; or if severe in aught,
The love he bore to learning was in fault.
The village all declar'd how much he knew;
'Twas certain he could write, and cipher too:
Lands he could measure, terms and tides presage,
And e'en the story ran that he could gauge.
In arguing too, the person own'd his skill,
For e'en though vanquish'd he could argue still;
While words of learned length and thund'ring sound
Amazed the gazing rustics rang'd around;
And still they gaz'd and still the wonder grew,
That one small head could carry all he knew."
